About Me
Dr. Brian Chon is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic surgery, dedicated to improving both function and aesthetics for patients with eyelid, tear duct, and facial concerns. He completed his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering and medical degree at Duke University, followed by ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. His advanced training includes a two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, where he gained expertise in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery protocols.
Dr. Chon finds great satisfaction in the variety of oculoplastic procedures, from cosmetic eyelid surgery and ptosis repair to complex tear duct surgeries and reconstruction after skin cancer. He values the balance of clinic-based evaluations and surgical interventions, allowing him to address patient needs directly and efficiently. At Kaiser Permanente, he benefits from integrated resources that facilitate seamless care coordination, ensuring patients receive comprehensive support including labs, imaging, and specialist referrals when needed.
Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Dr. Chon now enjoys the Bay Area lifestyle, staying active through golf and outdoor exploration. He believes that a holistic approach to patient care—combining technical skill with empathy—helps individuals achieve better health outcomes and enhanced confidence in their daily lives.
