Dr. Ballios completed an MD/PhD at the University of Toronto, followed by FRCSC residency in ophthalmology at the same institution. He pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Inherited Retinal Disease at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard. With a background in Engineering Chemistry from Queen’s University, he pioneered hydrogel-based delivery systems for retinal cell transplantation and continues to advance therapies aimed at preserving and restoring sight.
