Dr. Brett Gerwin

Dr. Brett Gerwin is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal medicine and surgery as well as ophthalmic oncology. He treats a range of retinal conditions including retinal detachments, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular trauma. Dr. Gerwin also has expertise in orbital disease and ocular oncology.

Dr. Gerwin completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal medicine, surgery, and ocular trauma at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also completed a fellowship in ophthalmic oncology and orbital disease at the Tumori Foundation, UCSF, and California Pacific Medical Center.

Dr. Gerwin is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
