About Me
Dr. Brett Budden is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the vitreous and retina. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University and Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, where he served as Chief resident during his senior year. Dr. Budden then completed a two-year fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center focused on the medical and surgical management of diseases of the vitreous and retina.
Dr. Budden’s main clinical interests are the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal tears and detachments, as well as other pathology affecting the vitreous, macula, and retina. He continues to work part-time at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, where he assists in the clinical and surgical training of both LSU and Tulane Ophthalmology residents and provides ongoing care for the state’s veteran population.
Dr. Budden has been practicing in the greater New Orleans and Metairie area since 2018, offering specialized retina care to the community.
