About Me
Dr. Brett Budden is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina and vitreous. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University and Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, serving as chief resident in his senior year, and then completed a two-year retina fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Budden cares for patients with diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, vitreous hemorrhage, macular hole and macular pucker, and other conditions that can cause symptoms like flashes or floaters. He continues to work part-time at the VA Hospital, where he helps train LSU and Tulane ophthalmology residents while providing retina care for Louisiana’s veteran community. He has practiced in the greater New Orleans and Metairie area since 2018.
