About Me
Dr. Anna K. Junk is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and glaucoma care at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Miami Veterans Affairs Hospital. She serves as a Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Miami, where she is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents. Dr. Junk also contributes to national patient safety standards as a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Glaucoma Panel.
Her research focuses on glaucoma pathophysiology, including the identification of biomarkers that may help differentiate glaucoma types and protect against optic nerve damage. Dr. Junk has conducted significant research on radiation effects on the eye, notably co-authoring the Ukrainian American Chernobyl Ocular Study, which influenced international radiation exposure guidelines.
She provides care for adults and offers video consultations for patients in Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania.
