About Me
Dr. Andrew Calman is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who maintains an active surgical practice. He provides expert eye care for a variety of ocular conditions, with a focus on retina and vitreous diseases. Dr. Calman graduated from Yale University summa cum laude with a BS and MS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry.
He earned his MD and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of California, San Francisco, where he also completed his residency training in ophthalmology. Dr. Calman holds faculty positions at UCSF and California Pacific Medical Center, serving as Vice-Chair for Faculty Development, and has trained medical students from around the world in his private practice.
Dr. Calman is Past President of the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and has contributed to eye care policy through roles on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Health Policy Committee. He also serves as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
