Dr. Alan Salz

Dr. Alan G. Salz is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been serving the central New Jersey community with advanced eye care. He has a longstanding interest in refractive surgery and was the first ophthalmologist in central New Jersey to perform laser vision correction. Dr. Salz has been performing LASIK since 1998 and was the first in the area to become certified to perform bladeless LASIK. He also specializes in modern cataract surgery, offering a full range of intraocular lens implants including monofocal, multifocal, astigmatism-correcting, and extended depth of focus lenses. Dr. Salz is dedicated to providing thorough evaluations and personalized attention to his patients. Over his career, he has participated in international missions to perform cataract surgery in third world countries.

Dr. Salz completed his medical training at Boston University's combined six-year undergraduate and medical school program, interned at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, recognized as a top training program. He has been selected as a Top Doc in NJ Monthly Magazine multiple times and has been a Castle Connolly Top Metro NY Area Doc for 15 years in a row. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
