Dr. Alaa Bou Ghannam

Dr. Alaa Bou Ghannam is a visiting specialist ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, where he focuses on neuro-ophthalmology, paediatric ophthalmology, paediatric glaucoma, and adult strabismus. He provides comprehensive eye care for both children and adults, addressing complex vision issues related to the nervous system and childhood eye conditions.

He earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in 2011, after completing a bachelor's degree with high distinction. He then pursued an ophthalmology residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, followed by fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Children’s National Health System and George Washington Hospital in Washington DC, and a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at The University of Colorado.

With extensive experience in Lebanon and the United States, Dr. Bou Ghannam has contributed to research in clinical ophthalmology, publishing over a dozen papers and book chapters. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Lebanese Ophthalmological Society, the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society, and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, ensuring he stays at the forefront of eye care advancements.
