About Me
Dr. Aida Bounama is an ophthalmologist specializing in oculofacial plastic surgery, with impeccable training as an eyelid expert. She completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, where she conducted research in chemistry and earned a prestigious Zabriskie Fellowship. After graduating magna cum laude, she obtained her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute.
Dr. Bounama further advanced her skills through a competitive ASOPRS fellowship in cosmetic, orbital, and functional oculoplastic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, joining the distinguished ranks of ASOPRS members. In her practice, she focuses on facial rejuvenation and disorders of the eyelids, eye socket, and tear drainage system, treating conditions such as droopy eyelids, droopy brows, and thyroid eye disease. She has a special interest in cosmetic procedures including botox injections and dermal fillers. As a native New Yorker, she is dedicated to serving her community with expert oculoplastic care.
