Meet Dr. Zeina Abdelnour Haddad

Dr. Zeina Haddad is a retina specialist at Carolina Eye Associates, focusing on conditions and diseases of the vitreous body of the eye and the retina. Her expertise includes treating diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachment, providing advanced care for complex retinal conditions.

Dr. Haddad earned her medical degree from the American University of Beirut, where she made the Dean’s Honor List. She completed her ophthalmic residency at both the American University of Beirut Medical Center and the University of Virginia Health System. She further advanced her training with fellowships in medical retina at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston and surgical retina at the University of Virginia Health System.

A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Haddad is recognized for her teaching, having received the Best Teacher Award for Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia Health System. She joined Carolina Eye Associates in 2015 and sees patients in several North Carolina communities. Outside of her practice, she enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, and spending time with her family.
