About Me
Dr. William Gruzensky is a cataract and LASIK surgeon and corneal specialist known for his friendly, soft-spoken, and dependable nature. He is a good communicator who makes patients feel comfortable and relaxed with his experienced and careful approach to care.
Dr. Gruzensky grew up in the canyon lands near Boulder, Colorado, where his father worked as a chemist. An avid outdoorsman, he climbed 16 of Colorado's highest peaks as a teenager. He graduated from college with a chemistry major before pursuing medicine. After earning his medical degree, he practiced in Alaska and Ethiopia, then completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in cornea and external eye disease.
For four years, Dr. Gruzensky taught ophthalmology residents eye surgery techniques at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is an outdoor adventurer who enjoys skiing, backpacking, mountain climbing, dog sledding, and flying. His commitment as a surgeon is to improve the human condition and quality of life by restoring eyesight, which he finds deeply rewarding.
