About Me
Dr. Tarek Alasil is a retina specialist who provides expert care for retinal diseases and conditions. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale University and further specialized with a retina fellowship at the Retina Institute of California. Dr. Alasil contributed to the development of en face imaging technology using swept source optical coherence tomography in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, enhancing diagnostic capabilities for retinal disorders.
His clinical and research focus includes polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic choroidopathy. With over 35 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major conferences like ARVO and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he is recognized in his field. Dr. Alasil has received awards such as the Best Poster Award at AAO and the ASCRS Excellence in Residency Award. He is also actively involved in professional advocacy, having served as an ambassador to the AAO midyear forum.
