Meet Dr. Stephen Keffer

Dr. Stephen T. Keffer is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Virginia Eye Institute, providing comprehensive eye care to patients at the Short Pump office in the Richmond area. He offers routine eye care and medical and surgical management of a wide range of eye conditions.

Dr. Keffer has a special interest in cataract surgery, working closely with patients to choose lens options that match their lifestyle and visual goals. He also manages glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, ocular surface disease, and dry eye conditions. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at UMBC, then attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also completed an internal medicine internship. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia, serving as Chief Ophthalmology Resident.

In his free time, Dr. Keffer enjoys beach volleyball, hiking, and spending time with his family.
