Meet Dr. Stephen J Eyler

Dr. Stephen Eyler is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who provides primary eye care and performs cataract surgery. He works with patients across central Illinois, focusing on careful evaluation of vision changes and clear, practical guidance about next steps—whether that means updating glasses, treating an eye condition, or planning surgery.

Dr. Eyler earned his bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed ophthalmology residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition to patient care, he has authored and co-authored articles for medical publications.

Dr. Eyler is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and he is committed to helping patients protect and improve their sight with attentive, patient-centered care.
