Dr. Shravan Savant

Dr. Noreen Shaikh is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Vitreous Retina Macula Specialists of New Jersey. She cares for adults with medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous, combining precise diagnostics with minimally invasive techniques tailored to each eye. Patients value her calm, communicative style and the way she explains options clearly so they can make confident decisions about their vision. Dr. Shaikh’s clinical practice spans age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal tears and detachments, and other macular conditions. She is experienced in advanced retinal surgery as well as office-based therapies, and she has specialized training in complex cases such as the repair of dislocated intraocular lenses. A graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College, she completed ophthalmology residency at Washington Hospital Center (Georgetown University) and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Lahey Health. She enjoys partnering with referring doctors to deliver timely, evidence-based care close to home.

Dr. Sanjai Jalaj is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. He is widely trusted for laser-assisted cataract procedures and advanced intraocular lens options that can reduce dependence on glasses. Dr. Jalaj also performs state-of-the-art corneal transplantation, including DMEK, and offers customized LASIK/PRK and crosslinking strategies for keratoconus. Patients value his easygoing manner, careful measurements, and willingness to tailor plans to visual goals and lifestyle. Dr. Jalaj completed ophthalmology residency at Columbia University, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. His training spans complex anterior segment surgery, corneal biomechanics, and modern refractive techniques, and he remains active in minimally invasive glaucoma procedures for combined cataract-glaucoma care. Dedicated to high-quality outcomes and clear education, he partners closely with each patient—from the first conversation through recovery—to deliver crisp, comfortable vision.

Joseph (“Jamie”) Raevis, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Monmouth Retina, caring for patients in Little Silver and across Monmouth County. A summa cum laude graduate of The College of New Jersey, he earned his medical degree from Georgetown University. Dr. Raevis completed ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate, where he served as chief resident, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before joining Monmouth Retina, he directed vitreoretinal surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and served as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Raevis manages the full range of medical and surgical retinal disease, from intravitreal injections to complex retinal detachment repair, and he enjoys teaching patients what to expect every step of the way. Outside of work, he spends time with family and enjoys hiking, camping, rock climbing, canoeing, and astronomy.
