About Me
Dr. Shannon G. Cox is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic, orbital, and reconstructive surgery for both adults and children. His medical journey began with academic distinction, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University before earning his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and Summa Cum Laude.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Cox further honed his skills through a fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery sponsored by the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery, an intensive two-year program where he performed over 3,000 surgeries, the highest in the country during his training.
Board-certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Cox is the only physician in Northeastern Oklahoma to hold ASOPRS certification. He is dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized care, taking time to discuss all treatment options and ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their journey. His expertise includes functional and cosmetic eyelid surgeries, Botox and filler treatments, tear duct surgery, eye removal, and managing eye and orbital tumors as well as thyroid eye disease, utilizing the latest technologies for optimal eye health and patient comfort.
