About Me
Dr. Sean D. Adrean is a retina specialist providing advanced care for retinal conditions in Orange County. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, Davis, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. His clinical expertise focuses on the treatment of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, along with surgical management of complex retinal detachments, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes.
Dr. Adrean is actively involved in research, serving as a principal investigator for clinical trials on new therapies for macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy. He has authored numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of Ophthalmology and The American Journal of Ophthalmology, contributed book chapters, and serves as an editor for multiple ophthalmic journals. He is a frequent speaker at The National Meeting for Retina Specialists.
Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Adrean is committed to delivering cutting-edge medical and surgical care. Outside of his practice, he is bilingual, enjoys physical fitness, runs a karate studio, and holds a fourth-degree black belt.
