Dr. Russell Huang
Ophthalmology – Glaucoma Specialist
About Me
Dr. Russell Huang is a board-certified ophthalmologist who cares for patients with glaucoma and cataracts. Raised in the Washington, DC area, he grew up in his father’s eye practice and learned early that excellent vision care starts with careful listening. He studied at Brown University, graduating with honors in Biology/Biotechnology, and even founded a small computer consulting company while in high school—experience that fuels his interest in practical, patient-friendly technology.
Dr. Huang earned his medical degree at Northwestern Medical School, completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Chicago’s NorthShore University Health System, and went on to an ophthalmology residency at Northwestern, where he was elected Chief Resident and received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award. He also pursued bench research exploring how Staphylococcus aureus may contribute to chalazia and completed a glaucoma fellowship at Northwestern University. Today he focuses on clear communication, evidence-based care, and helping each person understand the options that fit their goals and lifestyle.
