About Me

Dr. Roya Ghafouri is a highly skilled oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon with extensive training and experience in cosmetic, reconstructive, and functional procedures of the eye and surrounding structures. Her distinguished career includes serving as the Director of Oculoplastics and Reconstructive Surgery at Boston Medical Center. She is the author of many articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and a frequent speaker at national medical conferences, reflecting her commitment to advancing her field.

Dr. Ghafouri graduated Cum Laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Neurosciences. She subsequently earned a Master of Science in Physiology and her medical doctorate from Chicago Medical School, graduating with high distinction. She completed her preliminary internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, served as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at Boston Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. She has now returned home to Southern California where she practices.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Ghafouri has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. She has been featured as a “Super Doctors Rising Star” for the Los Angeles area and is dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered care in her community.
