Dr. Rosa Balcells Gonzalez

Dr. Rosa M. Balcells is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oculoplastic and orbital surgery specialist at Cincinnati Eye Institute. She provides both functional and cosmetic care of the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal system, with a particular interest in surgical reconstruction after trauma or tumor treatment. Her patient-centered approach emphasizes safety, natural-appearing results, and clear discussion of options, recovery, and long-term eyelid health.

Originally from Santiago, Chile, Dr. Balcells completed medical school and ophthalmology residency at Universidad de Chile before a two-year fellowship in Oculoplastics and Orbital Surgery at Cincinnati Eye Institute and the University of Cincinnati. She has held academic roles training residents and fellows and has led national and international oculoplastics efforts. At CEI, she offers the full spectrum of eyelid and lacrimal procedures along with minimally invasive aesthetic treatments.
