About Me
Dr. Renaud Duval is a vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the management of pathologies of the posterior segment of the eye.
After graduating with distinction from McGill University with a medical degree, he completed a five-year residency in ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal. He then pursued further training in Chicago, Illinois, where he sub-specialized in vitreoretinal surgery. Upon his return to Montreal, Dr. Duval joined the Department of Ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal as an Assistant Professor and became a member of the retina service at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont.
Within the Université de Montréal, Dr. Duval serves as the Director of the Ophthalmology Fellowship Program. He is also a member of the steering committee for the Department of Ophthalmology and serves as the Head of the Retina Service at the University Ophthalmology Center of Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont. His current research activities focus on the development of new surgical technologies, the medical application of computing advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the implementation of tele-screening.
