About Me
Dr. Kuchtey is a glaucoma specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she serves as Glaucoma Division Chief. She specializes in diagnosing and managing all forms of glaucoma, including complex cases referred by her colleagues. In addition to glaucoma care, Dr. Kuchtey performs cataract surgery and treats ocular complications of connective tissue disorders.
Dr. Kuchtey is actively involved in clinical research, serving as the Vanderbilt site principal investigator for a National Institutes of Health-sponsored multicenter prospective clinical trial evaluating laser treatment for glaucoma. Her laboratory research focuses on glaucoma genetics and mechanisms of aqueous humor outflow regulation and optic nerve damage. She holds faculty appointments as a tenured Full Professor of Ophthalmology and of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics.
