Dr. Pulin Shah

Dr. Pulin Shah is an ophthalmologist at Ochsner Health who specializes in corneal disease and cataracts. He has performed over 10,000 cataract procedures and leads the department of Ophthalmology as section head of Cataract and Corneal Surgery. Patients can expect expert care for conditions affecting the cornea and cataracts, with access to advanced surgical options including laser vision correction at the Ochsner Baptist Laser Vision Center.

Dr. Shah is dedicated to community service, partnering with local organizations to provide free cataract surgery to those in need. He also serves as board president of the International Eye Institute, leading volunteer medical teams to Central America for sight-restoring surgeries. His commitment extends globally through the Ochsner International Eye Care Fund, which supports efforts against preventable blindness.

Dr. Shah completed his medical training at LSU Health Sciences Center and advanced fellowship training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He returned to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to establish his practice and continues to serve the community with compassion and expertise.
