About Me
Dr. Paul Mitchell is an ophthalmologist who focuses on cataract care, from thorough evaluations to laser-assisted cataract surgery. A lifelong “gadgets and gizmos” enthusiast, he was drawn to eye surgery by a simple question: how do things work—and how can they work better for patients?
Over the course of his career, Dr. Mitchell has performed well over 20,000 cataract surgeries and has helped advance modern techniques that improve comfort and recovery. He is the inventor behind the patented Mitchell Tip for cataract surgery and was an early adopter of small-incision, no-stitch cataract surgery. He also helped pioneer No-Patch® cataract surgery in Georgia, allowing many patients to return to normal activities more quickly.
Patients appreciate his clear, reassuring explanations and his commitment to making surgery feel predictable and safe. He aims to pair meticulous surgical technique with a warm, personal approach so patients can enjoy sharper vision with confidence.
