Dr. Nathan Congdon
About Me
Dr. Nathan Congdon is an ophthalmologist focused on the prevention and treatment of blindness, with particular expertise in glaucoma care. He provides medical and surgical care to both adults and children with glaucoma, and has dedicated his career to improving eye health in underserved communities across Asia. Dr. Congdon currently serves as Professor of Preventive Ophthalmology at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center in China, where he also trains the next generation of eye doctors.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Congdon leads public health research aimed at reducing vision impairment in rural areas. His work has been supported by organizations such as the NIH and the World Bank, and he collaborates with global nonprofit groups including Helen Keller International and ORBIS International to implement blindness prevention programs.
