About Me
Dr. Matthew Zhang is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the University of Washington, specializing in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Zhang completed his residency at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute and pursued advanced fellowship training in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center.
Dr. Zhang’s clinical expertise includes eyelid surgery, eye socket surgery, thyroid eye disease, Botox injections, and skin care. His patient care philosophy is centered on the principle that "patients always come first," ensuring that each individual receives personalized and compassionate care. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality surgical and non-surgical treatments for conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, and surrounding structures.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Zhang is actively involved in research, with interests in thyroid eye disease, wound healing, and eyelid and orbital trauma. He has published several peer-reviewed articles and has received numerous awards for his research and clinical contributions. Dr. Zhang currently sees patients at the Eye Institute at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
