About Me
Dr. Matthew Dykhuizen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist at MidWest Eye Center, where he serves patients in Ohio and Northern Kentucky. He graduated cum laude from Brown University and earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia. His surgical retina training was completed with the Retina Associates of Kentucky in Lexington.
Dr. Dykhuizen is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains active membership in the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. These affiliations keep him at the forefront of retinal care and treatment advancements.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Dykhuizen is an accomplished triathlete, having completed the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater, Florida. He also holds an Advanced Wilderness Life Support Certification from the University of Utah.
