Meet Dr. Matthew D Reed

Dr. Matthew Reed is a board-certified, fellowship-trained retina surgeon at Hampton Roads Eye Associates. Since joining the practice in 2006, he has specialized in the medical and surgical management of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous. He offers advanced treatment options for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment.

Dr. Reed completed his undergraduate studies at Muhlenberg College, earning a double major in Biology and Philosophy. He received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School, followed by an internal medicine internship at Lankanau Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at New Jersey Medical School. He then completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Reed has authored publications and serves as a reviewer for several ophthalmology journals.
