Meet Dr. Mark Jason Douglas

Dr. Mark J. Douglas is a board-certified ophthalmologist recognized as a Diplomate by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He specializes in vitreoretinal surgery, focusing on the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, macular pucker, and vitreous surgery, providing advanced care for complex retinal conditions.

Dr. Douglas completed his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He then pursued an ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Eye Foundation Hospital, followed by a specialized vitreo-retinal fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.

He has been a valued member of Premier Medical Group since 2001 and maintains active memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Douglas enjoys wildlife photography, fishing, and spending quality time with his wife, Dr. Allison Douglas, and their three children.
