Dr. Lauren Mcdonald

Dr. Lauren McDonald is a board-certified ophthalmologist practicing at Gainesville Ophthalmology, which has been providing quality eye care since 1975. She offers comprehensive ophthalmologic services including routine eye exams, disease treatment, and outpatient surgical procedures for patients of all ages, from children to seniors. Her practice is dedicated to addressing both recent and chronic eye problems, and she is experienced in fitting contact lenses and managing various eye conditions.

Dr. McDonald completed her medical education and training with a strong foundation in Florida and beyond. She earned her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Florida in 2006, followed by a combined undergraduate and medical degree from the same institution in 2009. After an internship in internal medicine at the University of Florida, she specialized in ophthalmology through a residency program at Vanderbilt University, graduating in 2013.

Having lived in Gainesville since 1993, Dr. McDonald is committed to serving the North Central Florida community. She is pleased to establish her practice locally, providing accessible eye care to residents of Gainesville, Lake City, Archer, and surrounding areas. In her personal time, she enjoys staying active with running and engaging in creative hobbies like cross-stitching.
