Lalita Gupta, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She specializes in oculofacial surgery, which involves plastic and reconstructive surgery of the upper face, orbit, eyelids, and lacrimal system. Her expertise focuses on helping patients with complex conditions affecting these delicate areas through advanced surgical techniques.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in biology from George Washington University, Dr. Gupta completed her medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She then trained in an internal medicine internship at the Mount Sinai Health System, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she was appointed Administrative Chief Resident. She further honed her skills through an oculoplastics fellowship accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Gupta's research interests build on her clinical work, focusing on eyelid reconstruction, orbital disease, and imaging.
