About Me
Dr. Anne Barmettler is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic surgery at Montefiore Einstein. She serves as Director of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division and Professor in the departments of Ophthalmology, Visual Sciences, and Surgery. Her clinical focus is plastic and reconstructive surgery of the upper face, eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal system.
After earning her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, she completed an internship at Crozer Chester Medical Center, an ophthalmology residency at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical College, and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at William Beaumont Hospital and Kresge Eye Institute. Dr. Barmettler is an active researcher and educator, having published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters.
She serves on the editorial board for the journal Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as an editor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Eyewiki. Dr. Barmettler is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and was awarded 'Best of ASOPRS' in 2017.
