Meet Dr. Kenneth R Smith

Dr. Kenneth Smith is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in LASIK and refractive cataract surgery. With over 23 years of experience, he has personally performed more than 23,000 LASIK procedures and is known for his surgical expertise and compassionate care. He serves patients at LasikPlus locations in Louisville, Lexington, and Indianapolis.

Dr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College and completed his medical degree at the University of Louisville. He completed an internship in general surgery and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville, where he was selected to serve as chief resident. He began his own practice in 2003 and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care in cataract and LASIK surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr. Smith has received the Patients’ Choice Award, been named a Top Doctor in Louisville since 2013, and earned the Compassionate Doctors Award from Vitals in 2014. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
