Meet Dr. Kenneth C Mathys

Dr. Casey Mathys is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea specialist who provides comprehensive eye care with expertise in corneal conditions, external diseases, and refractive eye surgery. He performs traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery, helping patients address vision impairment from cataracts using advanced techniques like Femto Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery and refractive lens exchange.

Dr. Mathys completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. He has contributed to the field through publications in medical journals, book chapters on cornea disease, and lectures at national meetings. Outside of clinical practice, he has participated in multiple international surgical mission trips, providing cataract surgery in Honduras and assisting with corneal transplantation training in Vietnam.
