Meet Dr. Jonathan Jonisch

Dr. Jonathan Jonisch is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous. He is a partner at Vitreoretinal Consultants of NY and holds a position on the Medical Leadership Board of Retina Consultants of America. His medical journey began at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors, followed by an internal medicine internship at Winthrop University Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health.

He completed a specialized retina and vitreous fellowship at the prestigious Barnes Retina Institute at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as a Clinical Instructor. Dr. Jonisch is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, teaching students and residents, and serves on the Education Committee of the American Society of Retina Specialists. His clinical practice is dedicated to conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment.
