About Me
Dr. John Avallone is a board-certified ophthalmologist who focuses exclusively on children's eye care. With over 25 years of clinical experience, he provides comprehensive eye examinations and surgical treatments for a range of pediatric conditions. Dr. Avallone is particularly skilled in managing eye misalignment (strabismus) and offers advanced surgical techniques for children.
Previously, Dr. Avallone served as Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. He has also taught pediatric ophthalmology to residents at Georgetown University, Washington Hospital Center, and other programs. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Avallone is a member of the medical staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center and performs surgeries at the Surgical Center of Greater Annapolis. He has also led humanitarian medical missions to Guatemala.
