About Me
Dr. John Sheppard is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained corneal eye surgeon. As the President of Virginia Eye Consultants, he leads a team dedicated to providing high-quality eye care. Dr. Sheppard specializes in corneal transplantation, dry eye, cataract surgery, and advanced intraocular lens implants. He also treats urgent eye conditions.
Dr. Sheppard serves as a Professor of Ophthalmology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He has been actively involved in clinical research, serving as principal investigator in over 120 clinical trials. His academic and clinical work reflects a commitment to advancing eye care through research and education.
