Dr. Jeremy Van Buren

Dr. Jeremy Van Buren joined Phoenix Ophthalmologists in 2009, bringing a deep commitment to patient-centered eye care. He completed his medical school and residency training at the University of Wisconsin, following a strong academic foundation that includes a Bachelor of Science in Physiology & Biophysics from the University of Illinois, a Master’s in Neuroscience from Northwestern University, and a PhD in Pharmacology & Neuroscience from Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Van Buren is a prolific author who has written numerous chapters and publications on various aspects of ophthalmology, ranging from eyelid malposition to retinal and orbital cancers. He is also dedicated to international medicine, having performed eye surgery in the Philippines and given pharmacology and medical education lectures for the World Health Organization in India.

In his free time, Dr. Van Buren enjoys exploring the great outdoors with his children. He is known as “Dr. V” to his patients and colleagues, and he strives to combine his surgical expertise, research background, and compassionate approach to help each patient achieve and maintain clear, healthy vision.
