Meet Dr. Jason Richard Mayer

Dr. Jason R. Mayer is a fellowship-trained cornea and cataract surgeon focused on restoring clear, comfortable vision through precise, individualized care. He treats the full range of corneal and external eye diseases and performs complex cataract surgery and anterior segment reconstruction. Patients value his straightforward explanations and collaborative decision-making style.Dr. Mayer completed the Heersink Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital following ophthalmology residency at Penn State. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University and his undergraduate degree from Boston College. His interests include laser vision correction and advanced cataract technologies for people with astigmatism or prior eye surgery. He has been recognized with distinctions such as Best Paper by a Resident/Fellow at the 2016 ASCRS Annual Meeting and the Gayle Rutherford Memorial Research Award. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time outdoors in Colorado with family and friends.
