Meet Dr. Janine R Eagle

Dr. Janine Eagle is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. As a mother and avid photographer, she regards vision as the most precious sense and is dedicated to helping children reach their highest visual potential. She takes a family-centered approach, using songs, toys, and conversation to connect with young patients and earn their trust. Dr. Eagle sees the family as an integral part of care and works collaboratively with them to understand and manage eye conditions.

Dr. Eagle treats a wide range of childhood eye conditions, including strabismus, amblyopia, retinopathy of prematurity, congenital ocular anomalies, and hereditary systemic eye disorders. She completed medical school at Dartmouth, followed by an internship at Evanston Hospital, residency in ophthalmology at Northwestern University, and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Boston Children's Hospital. Board-certified in ophthalmology, she also holds faculty positions as Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the Geisel School of Medicine.
