About Me
Dr. Jamie Beckman is a glaucoma and anterior segment surgeon dedicated to providing advanced eye care. He earned his Master of Science in Physiological Sciences from the University of Arizona, where his thesis focused on the morphology of the retina in early diabetes, and he completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating as a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Honors Society.
After medical school, Dr. Beckman undertook a transitional internship at Beaumont – Dearborn and an ophthalmology residency at Corewell Health – Taylor, where he was Chief Resident. He further specialized with a glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto, training under the influential surgeon Dr. Ike Ahmed.
His expertise includes microinvasive glaucoma surgery, bleb-based glaucoma procedures, complex cataract surgery, lens exchanges, and iris repair. Dr. Beckman is actively involved in glaucoma research and innovation, and he is accepting new patients to offer comprehensive eye care in the Detroit area.
