Dr. Ilya Leyngold

Dr. Ilya Leyngold is a board-certified ophthalmologist and internationally recognized oculofacial plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit, and face. With over 15,000 procedures performed, he brings extensive experience in eyelid and facial plastic surgery, including advanced techniques for conditions such as thyroid eye disease and corneal neurotization.

Dr. Leyngold completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at Johns Hopkins University, followed by a two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery. He has served as a clinical faculty member at several leading institutions, including Duke University and the University of South Florida, and currently holds academic appointments at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Leyngold is a pioneer in corneal neurotization, a vision-saving procedure that restores nerve function to the cornea. He has authored over 80 research publications and edited the world's only textbook on this technique, and he is frequently invited to teach his surgical methods to other surgeons nationally and internationally.
