Dr. Guruswami Giri

Dr. Guruswami Giri is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained specialist in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. He provides care for a range of retinal conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and retinal vascular disorders. Dr. Giri's clinical focus also includes the diagnosis and treatment of inflammation and infections of the retina and vitreous, as well as surgeries for vitreous and macular disorders.

Dr. Giri earned his medical degree from Stanley Medical College, University of Madras, India, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He then pursued a fellowship in medical and surgical retina at West Virginia University in Morgantown. He also gained valuable training in the United Kingdom's National Health Services. Dr. Giri has relocated to Florida's Gulf Coast and now practices with The Eye Associates in Sarasota and Venice, where he works alongside a dedicated team of eye care professionals.
