About Me
Dr. Gilliland is an ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery, with a particular focus on orbital surgery and thyroid eye disease. He has extensive experience treating sports-related eye injuries, serving as team physician for the NHL Dallas Stars and consulting for other professional sports teams. His practice also encompasses eyelid surgery, orbital fracture repair, and reconstructive procedures for patients with complex craniofacial conditions.
As director of orbital surgery for the Skull Base Surgery Institute at Baylor University Medical Center, Dr. Gilliland utilizes advanced surgical navigation techniques to improve outcomes in thyroid eye disease rehabilitation. He is actively involved in teaching resident doctors in ophthalmology, maxillofacial surgery, and plastic surgery at Baylor Medical Center and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
