Dr. Erin Lichtenstein

Dr. Erin Lichtenstein is a board-certified comprehensive eye surgeon (ophthalmologist) at MaineGeneral Eye Center. She focuses on the treatment of medical eye diseases and performs cataract surgery, helping adults understand their diagnosis and options in a clear, practical way.

Dr. Lichtenstein diagnoses and manages a wide range of adult medical eye conditions and works with patients to create plans that support long-term vision and eye comfort. She joined MaineGeneral Eye Center’s medical staff and MaineGeneral Medical Center’s active staff in July 2025, after previously practicing as an ophthalmologist at Maine Eye Center in Portland. She speaks English and Spanish.

Her training includes medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and an ophthalmology residency at University of Virginia Hospital.
