About Me
Dr. Eric Lichtenstein is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who has been providing specialized eye care to children in Queens since 2001. He founded PediatricEyeMD to offer accessible, high-quality pediatric eye care without requiring families to travel to Manhattan. In 2025, he launched The Pediatric Eye Center, a concierge-level division for families seeking out-of-network or specialized services like myopia management. Dr. Lichtenstein has over two decades of experience treating conditions such as strabismus, eyelid disorders, tear duct issues, and other pediatric eye problems. He completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary and a world-renowned fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Indiana University/Riley Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Lichtenstein is known for his calm, child-friendly manner and his ability to build rapport with young patients. He tailors treatment plans to each child’s needs, whether through surgical interventions like strabismus repair or non-surgical management. His practice also serves adults with strabismus. Dr. Lichtenstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
