Meet Dr. Elizabeth Shanika Esparaz

Dr. Elizabeth Shanika Esparaz is a fellowship-trained retina specialist who provides comprehensive eye care and cataract surgery, with advanced expertise in medical retina. She completed her ophthalmology and vitreoretinal training at Boston University and brings a technology-forward approach to diagnosing and treating retinal disease.

Dr. Esparaz cares for patients with conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal tears, and she also treats retinal vein occlusions and macular swelling. She is committed to compassionate, patient-centered care and was recognized during medical school with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. In addition to clinical care, she has presented work at national conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her interest in advancing how eye disease is treated and understood.
