Dr. Douglas Liva

Dr. Douglas Liva is the Medical Director of Liva Eye Center, a practice he founded in 1986 with his father. A third-generation physician, Dr. Liva graduated with honors from Harvard College and earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency, and became board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1987. In 2014, Dr. Liva relocated his practice to a new, dedicated eye care facility in Ridgewood, New Jersey, designed to offer advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies for most ocular diseases. He maintains staff privileges at several local hospitals and surgical centers.

Dr. Liva has been recognized repeatedly as a top doctor, including being named a "Top Doctor in the New York Metro Area" by Castle Connolly for 25 consecutive years, as well as receiving the Inside New Jersey Top Doc award for 15 years and New York Magazine Top Doctor for five years. With decades of experience, he provides comprehensive ophthalmology care to patients.
