Dr. Douglas Mazzuca

Dr. Douglas E. Mazzuca Jr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist who joined the Mazzuca Eye and Laser team in 2016. He offers comprehensive ophthalmic care for a wide variety of eye disorders and specializes in refractive surgical procedures. Dr. Mazzuca is an attending surgeon at Salem Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital, and he performs his surgeries at both Salem ASC and Eyecare of Delaware.

Dr. Mazzuca grew up in Hockessin, Delaware, and attended Archmere Academy for high school. He graduated from Villanova University with a degree in mechanical engineering before realizing his passion for medicine. He then earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following in his father's footsteps, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the same institution, where he served as chief resident in 2016 and is currently the program director.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Mazzuca lives in Glen Mills with his wife, daughter, and two sons.
