Meet Dr. Derek Scott Horkey

Dr. Derek Horkey is a glaucoma specialist who helps patients protect their sight through careful diagnosis, long-term monitoring, and personalized treatment. Because glaucoma is often a lifelong condition, he focuses on building lasting relationships and explaining options in a clear, practical way. He also performs cataract surgery and treats a range of common eye concerns, including age-related macular degeneration, to help patients see their best.

He completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Ohio State University Havener Eye Institute, following ophthalmology residency and internal medicine internship training at the University of Kansas. Dr. Horkey earned his medical degree at Loyola University Chicago, along with a master’s in medical sciences, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys traveling with his family and cheering on Minnesota sports.
